Notes
- Bernard was the brother that drowned. Betty Hanebeck told the story that the boys loved to play on the logs in the river. The logs were floated down the St. Louis river that ran through town. The boys used to jump from log to log and they suspect that is why he drowned. (He did not drown falling off a bicycle as we were first told.)
